Reports: Ask questions & get answers from your data.
Reports allow you to ask questions of your data in a way that is easy to understand, even for non-technical users. Essentially, reports expose attributes in your data and allow you to build a framework to ask questions of that data using an easily understood format, which includes pick lists, drop-down menus and more.
Here is an example of how a report could be used:
This example report was created to search for water mains based on the specific attributes chosen.
As shown, the report has some simple fields added:
- ability to draw a Geographic Area of Interest (AOI)
- pipe class (Select)
- pipe diameter (Between)
- pipe length (Greater than)
Reports are highly customizable and can be created in just minutes to your exact specifications, allowing you to modify them at a moment's notice. Now that you have a general understanding of how reports are used, try creating one yourself. For some step-by-step instructions, view our Using a report tutorial.
